FAREWELL

FAREWELL  Padlet has been selected to sum up the knowledge I have acquired during this term. It includes all the ICT tools that have been used, as well as short notes about them. They have been sorted according to their complexity with green, yellow and red labels. At the beginning of the time line, there is a voice file that explains my contribution with this tool. Here below you can take a look of it. Checking this kind of tasks, you as a teacher can realise how hard your students have worked!

BACK TO 1256 - VIDEO CLIP

The video we have created can be visualised by fourth grades in the area of Social Science. In this way, students will be able to compare and analyse some differences between the present and the past (XIII century): Awesome landscapes that have been replaced by buildings and roads. Healthy food that has been substituted by fast food. Male supremacy which is being switched into gender equality.  In the video, a couple from the present travel in time to 1256 thanks to an awesome dream. There, they meet an other loving couple who show them habits, attitudes and landscapes they have in that period of time. In this line, the “modern couple” exchange with them their own belongings such as masks and doritos. Moreover, they emphasise the importance of the equality among men and women, what seemed to be impossible to achieve during the 13th century.  The filming of the video has been possible due to a travel to Buitrago de Lozoya, a beautiful village located in the north of Madrid. Tha...

STORYBOARD A VIDEO PROJECT

Before recording the video clip, we had to create a storyboard that sequences the different scenes of the film. In this way, by taking a look at our storyboard you can easily guess what the video clip is about.  To design the storyboard, we have employed the app StoryboardThat. You don’t have to watch one hundred videos on YouTube to know how to use it. It´s very simple.Although it isn’t a complex tool, it has a lot of characters and scenes to create a personalised stoary board, which will represent the most important scenes of the video clip. Furthermore, characters have different positions and facial expressions to represent specifically where the characters are situated, and how they feel. Finally, you can decide the format of your stoary board, adding more strips if you need it. While we were designing the stoary board, we were also making the dialogues that characters would later reproduce. In addition, the several recourses that this app provides, also give us ideas to...

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER, ENJOY YOUR LIFE

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER, ENJOY YOUR LIFE Today, it´s a good opportunity to show you how to create a podcast.  First of all, you will have to write the script related to the information you want to transmit to your pupils. Regarding to the thematic of my podcast, I opted to talk about motivation and personal development. Hence, students will be able to think about it during their summer holidays. Once you have done it, you can record your voice saying the content of the script. Remember that you have to engage your students, so I recommend you change the level of your voice continuously.  When you have the file with your voice recorded, you can download the app Anchor. I have selected it because it´s very useful to add some details to your podcast and upload it. You will be able to find many sounds gathered in different sections depending on their thematic. Moreover, you can put them at the beginning of the audios, between them or just at the end.  Finally, I could embed properl...
Genial.ly for creating presentations.  The teacher told us to create a presentation in order to know the different tools that many apps facilitate us to present a content.  I chose Genial.ly because there are many drafts about many topics you can modify with your information. As I wanted to create a presentation about plants for second graders, a draft based on natural drawings was selected. Moreover, you can add images and use it as easy as a power point.  Finally, we were taught about the importance of including a cover with the title of the topic, an index that show the audience how your presentation is going to be structured, the conclusions of your research and finally, give words of thanks.

INFOGRAPHIC

Educational infographics are very useful to show content in a clear way. Thus, students will be able to discriminate information and organise it visually for a more meaningful learning.  The infographic I have created shows the main difference between evergreen and deciduous trees. It is directed to second graders, who use to confuse these two concepts. Moreover, some examples of each type of tree have been written for their knowledge. The application that has been used is Canva. They have a lot of infographics drafts depending on the format you want to apply. Once you have selected one of them, you can modify the text with the information you want to teach your students.  As a good tool Canva is, you can use different types of letter, forms to introduce text, lines, etc. Moreover, it´s very easy to embed the infographic you have created on your blog and share it in social networks. From my point of view, infographics are essential to take a look at the paper and unders...

USING MINDMAPS IN CLASS

According to one of the previous didactic unit about weather I have planned, I consider essential to create a mindmap. In this way, will be able to structure in their minds the main concepts of the unit.  The application I have selected to create the mindmap is Creately. From my point of view, it is very easy to add different kinds of lines, squares and circles to write important concepts. Moreover you can decorate them with different colours. It seem to be a basic thing but, in other apps I have tried, I had to pay for it. An other thing I consider essential of this page is that I can attach as many images from my computer.
